Enrolment Information

All children enrolling at our school enjoy a smooth transition that enables them to become part of our school with minimum disruption and maximum support.

Enrolment Policy

The enrolment Policy at St Thomas' is based on the Archdiocese of Melbourne Enrolment Policy for Catholic Schools. Enrolment at St Thomas’ implies a participation in the Parish by the child’s family.

Priority of enrolment:

  1. To be eligible for enrolment in Prep, children must reach the school entry age of 5 years by April 30th.
  2. Siblings of children already enrolled in the school are given priority.
  3. A Catholic child living in the parish.
  4. A Catholic child living outside the parish if the parents can provide good reason for not choosing their own Parish Primary school.
  5. A non-Catholic child may be considered after consultation between parents and the Parish Priest.

Information for enrolment is circulated and enrolments forms are available to be completed for applicants. Applications must be accompanied with a

  • Baptism Certificate
  • Birth Certificate
  • Completed Immunization Certificate

Applications close May 31st. Parents are notified in writing regarding enrolment acceptance. Parents must confirm the acceptance along with a $100.00 enrolment deposit which is rebated from the first year of School Fees.

As part of our process of welcoming new families to our community, families enrolling for the first time at St Thomas’ are invited to attend an interview. Dates and times to be advised.

The Prep teacher/s in conjunction with the Principal, undertakes the visitation of relevant Kindergartens to observe prospective children at work/play, and to enlist the aid or advice of the Kindergarten teacher regarding special considerations or concerns.
